Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a straightening-processed metal rod and a manufacturing method thereof, which is a material for bolts and the like having a compressive residual stress entirely and continuously and increased fatigue strength of the fastening part.SOLUTION: Provided is a straightening-processed metal rod having a compressive residual stress entirely and continuously in the longitudinal direction. A rotating roller having a barrel-shape structure and a rotating roller having an hourglass-shape structure are arranged with their rotating side faces close to each other. Rotation axes of the two rotating rollers are arranged substantially parallel to each other in the horizontal projection plane while they are arranged so as to intersect each other in the vertical projection plane. The two rotating rollers are rotated in the same direction, and a workpiece composed of a metal rod is inserted between the two rotating rollers. Being rotated and sandwiched between two rotating rollers, the workpiece is moved in the extending direction of the rotating shaft of the two rotating rollers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
