To provide a strain detecting element comprising a strain resistance element where a stable conductive path is formed and fluctuation in resistance value is suppressed when a stress is applied or removed.
The strain detecting element comprises an elastic substrate 1 which causes strain under an applied stress, and a thick film resistor 4 which is provided on the elastic substrate 1 and changes electric resistance value according to the amount of strain, and detects a stress strain generated at the elastic substrate 1 from changes in resistance value of the thick film resistor 4. The thick film resistor 4 is obtained by baking a resistor paste whose main component is a conductive-component-contained glass in which conductive particles are contained in glass frit.
