Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable not only omission of a drying process of moisture-absorbing or water-containing wood flour but also continuous production of wood flour- containing compound pellets.
SOLUTION: Resin forming material and moisture-absorbing or water- containing wood flour supplied to a supply port 23 of an intermeshing type twin-screw side feeder 20 are kneaded to some extent while they are being carried toward an intermeshing type twin-screw kneading extruder 1. The resin material and moisture-absorbing or water-containing wood flour are molten and kneaded by virtue of heat transmitted from a heating cylinder 2 and shearing heat generated from rotating screws 3a, 3b, and thereafter they are extruded from a die 9 as a strand. However, water generated during this melting and kneading process and gas comprising volatile constituents are discharged outside of the extruder by being vacuum sucked from a rear vent port 6a provided on an upstream side of an introduction port 5 and vent ports 6b, 6c provided on a downstream side of the introduction port 6.
