Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a strainer to be easily and rapidly cleaned or replaced even if the strainer mesh is clogged by a method wherein a strainer mesh is mounted at an inlet port inside a union and fastened and fixed with a flare nut together with a pipe to be connected.
CONSTITUTION: A strainer mesh 6 is inserted into a passage 2a of a union 2 at its inlet port. A flare 7 formed at an extremity end of an inner and outer connecting pipe 5 is abutted against a front surface of a tapered flange 6a. Under this condition, a female screw 4a formed at an inner circumferential surface of the flare nut 4 is threadably connected to a male thread 2b formed at an outer circumferential surface of the union 2 and fastened, thereby the inner and outer connection pipe 5 is sealingly connected to the refrigerant pipe 1 and concurrently the strainer mesh 6 is fixed. With such an arrangement as above, the flare nut 4 is rewound to remove the inner and outer connecting pipe 5, resulting in that the strainer mesh 6 can be pulled out of the union 2. Accordingly, it is possible to perform cleaning or replacing of the strainer mesh 6 easily and rapidly.
