PURPOSE: To simplify threading of a tension-compensating unit with two thread components in a method for threading a stranding machine and its tension- compensating unit.

CONSTITUTION: The stranding machine has plural twisting spindles for manufacturing a pair of strands consisting of an inside thread 1 and an outside thread 11. The inside and outside threads are adjusted in the upstream of a juncture or mutually twisting point thereof or passed through a tension-compensating unit 30. The unit 30 has two or more pairs of rollers 38, 40 and 37, 39 arranged adjacent to and in parallel with one another, and simultaneously, is rotatable about axis lines intersecting perpendicularly to axis lines of the rollers. The two threads are provided with closing thread channels 41, 41' and 42, 42' respectively. For the thread channels, a part thereof is defined by travelling surfaces of individual pairs of rollers 38, 40 and 37, 39.
