Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the simultaneous start of cargo handling on each vehicle deck in a ferry provided with a lower vehicle deck and an upper vehicle deck.
CONSTITUTION: In a ferry provided with a lower vehicle deck 2 and an upper vehicle deck 3, the lower vehicle deck 2 is equipped with vehicle passing means 7, 8, 10, 11 for allowing the passage of a vehicle 14 from the quay G, and the upper vehicle deck 3 is also equipped with vehicle passing means 6, 8 for allowing the passage of a vehicle 13 from the quay G. Cargo handling between the lower vehicle deck 2 and quay G and cargo handling between the upper vehicle deck 3 and quay G can be thereby started simultaneously using the vehicle passing means 6-11 equipped between the respective vehicle decks 2, 3 and quay G so as to improve cargo handling efficiency to a great extent.
