Abstract:

To allow the running of a vehicle even in a fault condition, by using the maximum throttle position inferred from an engine position and a pedal position, in order to determine the torque reducing amount necessary from a strategy of the fuel reducing amount and the ignition delay torque control, when a throttle is stuck.

A pedal position detecting sensor 131, an engine speed sensor 15, an exhaust gas recirculation valve 16, and a suction air temperature sensor 17, are provided, the output signals of them are input to an electronic engine control module 11, and the available maximum load to an engine is calculated there. While the available maximum torque, and a desired engine torque are calculated, a torque loss is reduced by considering a friction, an air-conditioning load, and the loss of a pump for power steering, so as to decide a true available torque. After that, a pedal position variable is multiplied to the true available torque, a signal for a strategic program for torque control is output, and the operations of a fuel injector 102 and an ignition plug 101 are controlled.
