Title:
STRATIFIED AIR SUPPLY ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2689100
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve idling stability as well as to secure output by uniform combustion in a high load range while fuel consumption is improved by lean combustion due to stratified combustion at the time of a low load.
SOLUTION: A stratified air supply engine is equipped with fuel supply means 11, 13 and an ignition device 8 so that uniform combustion is carried out by supplying fuel by being dispersed in a combustion chamber 1 at the time of a high load while stratified combustion is carried out by supplying the fuel by partially existing around the ignition device 8. This engine is also equipped with control means 16 by which fuel injection timing is controlled so as to correct a lead angle in proportion to injection timing at the time of the stratified combustion while intake throttling means 14 is arranged in an intake passage 3 so as to reduce the opening area of the intake passage 3 at the time of idling operation.
