To provide a stream data transfer control mechanism capable of efficiently transmitting/receiving stream data to/from a recording means in consumer or industrial digital equipment equipped with the recording means such as an HDD, a semiconductor flash memory, or the like, and capable of simplifying its equipment configuration.
A stream data processor 21 is characterized by comprising a transmission connection setting part 29 which exchanges and stores transmission connection destination information regarding a connection destination device with a host part 22 via a non-stream I/F part 24 with respect to a stream transmission part (1) 35 or a stream transmission part (2) 36 of a stream I/F part 25 for exclusively inputting/outputting stream data using the host part 22 and a transmission/reception buffer 26; and a stream data transfer control part 23 which performs a stream transmission operation by converting the information in such a transmission stream size that the connection destination device can receive the most efficiently while referring to the transmission connection destination information.
