Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a camera capable of surely preventing inadvertent photographing not intended by a photographer by inhibiting an exposure operation in the case of shifting mode from a low power consumption mode to a normal photographing mode.
CONSTITUTION: A release button 13 is turned on in the low power consumption mode to shift the mode to the normal photographing mode. Just after that, when the release button 13 is still turned on, an exposure operation inhibiting means 19 inhibits the exposure operation. The inhibiting state of the photographing is kept until the release switch 13 becomes OFF state without advancing to a series of photographing operations. Thus, the photographing is not executed in the low power consumption mode without the intention of the photographing, for instance, even if a liquid crystal display unit 14 is lighted and the release switch 13 is turned on only for confirming photographing information or the release switch 13 is inadvertently turned on, so that the futile use of a film can be surely prevented.
