PURPOSE: To provide a street luminaire capable of performing street illumination with an enhanced efficiency of illumination and a decreased amount of power consumption by constructing it with a combination of a light source having a high luminous efficiency and a high color rendering light source with a reflecting plate and also controlling the light distribution according to purposes in an illumination range.

CONSTITUTION: A light source 1 having a high luminous efficiency and a high color rendering light source 3 are used jointly in a single lighting fixture and two reflecting plates 2 and 4 for creating a light distribution independently are provided separately to prevent mixed lighting. The light sources are switched on simultaneously, the light source 1 having a high luminous efficiency is made to lighten a sidewalk necessary for a purpose of pedestrian's walk and passing, and the high color rendering light source 3 is made to lighten in a direction opposite to the side walk, illuminating traffic signs from which color information is needed, trees, etc. By this construction, effective street lighting can be performed with low power consumption.
