Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a housing building planner to visibly identify how much load a housing foundation endures or how it supports load when earthquake occurs.
SOLUTION: A housing foundation specimen 3 is made of light transmissive material so that a specimen with the same sectional shape as that of a housing foundation can be held and load can be applied thereto in the same direction as that of the housing foundation to deform the housing foundation specimen 3 with internal stress and visibly identify its deformed condition. Light beam is passed through the housing foundation specimen 3 from one direction to be seen via a polarizing plate. The housing foundation specimen 3 is held between an upper holder 5 and a lower holder 7 to adjust load while adjusting a gap between the upper holder 5 and the lower holder 7 with a load adjusting handle 6.
