Title:
STRESS MEASURING DEVICE FOR VISCOUSTIC BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3138522
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To generate a uniform shearing speed distribution by forming the specimen chamber bounding surfaces of a rotary die conically, and locating the peripheral edges of these bounding surfaces, outside of a torque sensing die, nearer the specimen chamber bounding surfaces of an outer cylinder die than the cone surface.
CONSTITUTION: An upper die 1 is rotated, and the counter-torque acting on a lower die 2 is sensed. The bottom surface of the upper die 1 is formed approx. conically, and its peripheral edges 1a are formed horizontally in their portion having a greater dia. than the lower die 2. According to this arrangement where the peripheral edges 1a are located nearer the specimen chamber bounding surfaces of an outer cylinder die 3 than the cone surface, the specimen chamber bounding surfaces of a stationary die situated upper 4 have a small area, which permits lessening the friction of the specimen with the inside surfaces of the stationary die 4. Thereby the width of uniform shearing speed can be widened.
