PURPOSE: To obtain a composite web excellent in mechanical characteristics and flexibility and having good stretchability and hygroscopicity.
CONSTITUTION: This composite web is produced by laminating a short fiber non-woven web layer to at least one side of a filament non-woven web layer. Therein, the filament yarns constituting the non-woven web layer are accumulated, partially thermally press-adhered and crimped. At least a part of the short fiber yarns constituting the short fiber non-woven web layer have water absorbability, and are interlaced with each other in a three-dimensional structure. The filament yarns and the short fiber yarns are interlaced with each other also in a three-dimensional structure to form a wholly integrated composite web layer having an elongation recovery of ≤80% on the elongation of 30%.
