PURPOSE: To provide a stretchable and flexible heat pipe, by a method wherein a heat pipe is provided with one pipe end surface as a heat input surface and the other pipe end surface as a heat output surface, a container part of the heat pipe has a double pipe construction in which the outer pipe is a flexible bellows, while the inner pipe has one end adhered to the heat output side end surface and the other end set to be a free end.

CONSTITUTION: A bellows pipe from container 23 is provided between an end sealing plate 21 used as the heat output surface and an end sealing plate 22 used as the heat input surface, and the inner pipe 24 provided in the container 23 has one end 25 adhered to the plate 21 and the other end 26 set to be a free end. The plate 21 is adhered to a flat cooling plate 28, while the plate 22 is adhered to a heating element, for example, a semiconductor circuit chip 29. The inner pipe 24 prevents the operation of a working liquid or the vapor thereof from being obstructed by projections of the bellows during a heat-exchanging cycle, and thereby prevents the performance of the heat pipe from being lowered.
