To provide a knitted fabric which comprises synthetic fibers, whose entirety elongates uniformly with a low load, has a high recovery rate, is bulky, soft and excellent in stretchability, and capable of being utilized as a bath towel having a good foaming property and a good touch.

There is provided a knitted fabric which is knitted by a ground texture of 4-10 gauges/inch and 15-22 courses/inch, which is thermally contracted by 20% or more in a warp direction and 20% or more in a weft direction. It is preferable that the knitted fabric has a load for an elongation of 50% of 50 N or less and a recovery rate of 70% or more in the warp direction, and a load for an elongation of 50% of 10 N or less and a recovery rate of 70% or more in the weft direction. There is provided a cleaning tool which is produced including the knitted fabric.
