To provide a narrow woven fabric stretchable in a longitudinal direction (length direction), and varying appearance of surface color, pattern, gloss, etc., between stretched and constricted states.

The fabric is woven with warps including main warps constituting major part of warps, pressing warps thinner than the main warp and rubber yarns, and wefts of a front layer and wefts of a back fabric. The main warps and the rubber yarns are interlaced solely with the wefts of the back fabric and not interlaced with the wefts of the front layer. The main warps are interlaced with the wefts of the back fabric with a weave texture to develop the warps mainly on the front side of the back fabric. The pressing warps are interlocked with the front and back wefts in a manner to bind the front layer wefts to the back fabric wefts. The appearance of the front face of the woven fabric in stretched state is determined by the wefts of the front layer, and the appearance of the front face of the woven fabric in stretched state is determined by the main warps.
