Title:
STRETCHABLE NONWOVEN FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3464842
Kind Code:
B
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a stretchable nonwoven fabric having excellent stretch recovery and to provide its production process.
CONSTITUTION: This stretchable nonwoven fabric has a structure containing entangled fiber bundles containing crimped fibers. The fiber bundles are present in the fabric in a nearly crossed state and are entangled with each other also at the crossing point of the bundles. The nonwoven fabric exhibits a stretch recovery of ≥50% in at least one direction. The fabric is produced by placing a fiber web containing latent crimping fibers on a supporting member having a mesh size finer than 40 mesh, treating the fibers with water jet ejected under an ejection pressure of ≥35kg/cm2 to entangle the fibers, placing the treated fabric on a supporting member having a mesh size not finer than 40 mesh, treating the fibers with water jet ejected under an ejection pressure of ≥50kg/cm2 to effect the entangling of the fibers and the forming of openings and developing the crimp of the latent crimping fibers by heat-treatment.
