To obtain a streched wire which can surely prevent the occurrence of a malfunction due to dimensional deviation while keeping a fixing part of a shape memory alloy wire and a terminal firmly fixed even though the shape memory alloy wire is repeatedly expanded and contracted.

In a streched wire which includes a shape memory alloy wire and a terminal fixed to at least one end of the shape memory alloy wire, the terminal includes a terminal body, a bent part for fixing thereto the shape memory alloy wire bent in a substantially U-shape, a caulking and fixing part for caulking the bent part and shape memory alloy wire so as to form an uneven part with respect to the axis direction of the shape memory alloy wire by inserting the shape memory alloy wire into the bent part, and an open end fixing part of the bent part which is fixed the periphery of an opening end of the bent part to the terminal body by welding or caulking so as to prevent a force pushing and opening the bent part when expanding and contracting the shape memory alloy wire.
