Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a string which has a high coefft. of friction with a tennis ball and is consequently capable of sufficiently applying a spin to the tennis ball while having a good spreading property.
SOLUTION: This string comprises one core material 11, two large-diameter side threads 13, four first small-diameter side threads 15 and five second small- diameter side threads 17. The side threads 13, 15 and 17 are spirally wound around the core material 11. The core material 11 consists of aramid fibers as a main component material. The side threads 13 and 15 are polyamide fibers and the side threads 17 are the aramid fibers. The diameter of the side threads 13 is set at ≥0.4 to ≤0.5 times that of the core material. The elongation at break the side threads 13 is set at ≥3 to ≤27 times that of the core material 11.
