To solve problems that a string guide arm must be moved back and forth, the movable range back and forth must be ensured, a string tying device is hardly miniaturized in the back and forth direction, a guide groove must be formed in a base member to turn a string guide member, and the configuration of the string tying apparatus is complicated thereby.

String guide members 51 and 52 to be rotatably and pivotably supported by spindle pins 10a and 10b erected on a base member 10 are turned in an approaching side to each other, and both end portions of a string H are guided backwardly by string guide arms 51c and 52c while the string is wound around a member M to be bound to the binding preparation position. The back and forth movement of the string guide arms 51c and 52c is not required, and any guide groove is not required for the base member 10. Thus, the string tying apparatus can be miniaturized and the configuration thereof is simplified.
