PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent ball fitting feed and repulsive property and to improve durability by providing the intermediate layer of the string consisting of a synthetic fiber used for tennis, etc., with a specific high elastic moudulus fiber so as not to impair the stretchability of the string.

CONSTITUTION: This string is formed by providing the surface of core yarn 1 consisting of a relatively hold polyamide monofilament with the intermediate coating layer 2 coarsely and spirally wound with the high elastic modulus fiber and tightly and spirally winding plural pieces of side yarns 3 consisting of polyamide monofilaments on the surface thereof. The side yarns 3 are wound by applying an adhesive thereto at this time to integrate the three namely, the core yarn 1, the intermediate coating layer 2 and the side yarns 3. The outermost surface is provided with a resin coating layer 4 consisting of a polyamide resin. The intermediate coating layer 2 between the core yarn 1 and the side yarns 3 is formed by winding the high elastic modulus fiber having the modulus of elasticity of ≥50GPa in such a manner that the number of winding attains ≥20.0T/M and the coating area rate on the core yarn 1 attains ≤50%.
