Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector whose energy resolution is not lowered although a large-area semiconductor crystal is used, whose structure is simple and which is manufactured easily.
SOLUTION: Strip-shaped anodes 3a to 3e and strip-shaped auxiliary cathodes 4a to 4f are formed alternately and mutually closely on an insulating substrate 2. Semiconductor crystals 6 are arranged and installed between the electrodes and a main cathode 5. Then, the members are fixed together by an electrode fixation means 7. Electric fields with respect to the semiconductor crystals 6 are generated across the main electrode 5 and the strip-shaped anodes 3a to 3e. Since the strip-shaped auxiliary cathodes 4a to 4f are installed near the strip-shaped anodes 3a to 3e, electric fields near the cathodes become strong. Since the strip-shaped electrodes are formed on the insulating substrate 2, they are manufactured easily.
