PURPOSE: To enhance workability by performing the stripping work while gripping a wire or a cable between a cable gripping roller and a guide roller for regulating the gripping of a cable.
CONSTITUTION: A wire or a cable is gripped firmly between a cable grip roller 2 and a guide roller 3 for regulating the gripping of a cable. A rotary cutter l bites a wire or cable at a position perpendicular to the longitudinal direction thereof and then the rotary cutter 1 is rotated to cut the coating in round slices. Subsequently, the rotary cutter 1 is shifted obliquely to bite the coating and then rotated to cut the coating spirally in the longitudinal direction upto a predetermined position. The rotary cutter 1 then bites the coating at a position perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of cable and is rotated to cut the coating in round slices. According to the constitution, coating can be exfoliated easily at the intermediate and terminal parts resulting in the enhancement of workability in stripping work.
