To provide a strobe device and an imaging device that call attention to a subject and can photograph the subject in an appropriate condition when the subject to be photographed is a human being or an animal.
A strobe device 2 according to the present invention comprises: a strobe body part 9; a light emission part 10 that is rotatably connected to the strobe body part 9; a variable mechanism 12 that can vary an angle of the light emission part 10; a driving part 13 that drives the variable mechanism 12; and a control part 15 that controls the driving part 13. An irradiation direction angle of the light emission part 10 can be changed by the control part 15, and the control part 15 is provided with a mode of regularly or irregularly changing the irradiation direction angle of the light emission part 10 before an imaging device starts photographing. Thus, attention to the subject is called when photographing, so that the subject can be photographed in an appropriate condition.
