To provide a stroke detection device capable of reducing cost, using a simple structure, and to provide a motorcycle equipped with the detection device.

The stroke detection device of a shock absorber 9 is equipped with a cylinder 16 filled with hydraulic fluid, a piston 17 relative-movably arranged in the cylinder 16, and a piston rod 18 connected to the piston 17 and projecting to the outside of the cylinder 16. The detection device comprises a flow meter 23 for detecting the amount of the hydraulic fluid, equivalent to a change amount of a volume of the piston rod 18 entering the cylinder 16, and a stroke calculation means 24 for obtaining stroke L of the shock absorber 9, based on the detected amount of the hydraulic fluid.
