Title:
STRONG SCREW-DOWN ROLLING MILL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57100805
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make high draft rolling possible with a relatively compact mill by arranging backup rolls to the upper and lower work rolls disposed in a leveler shape, and screwing down these with the screw-down devices provided to upper, lower backup roll housings.

CONSTITUTION: Plural upper work rolls T1WT5 and lower work rolls B1WB5 arranged at constant inervals are so supported to roll housings as to be driven respectively independently. The respective upper and lower work rolls T1WT5, B1WB5 are supported at both ends with the arc-shaped cages mounted with backup rolls L1WL5, L11WL14 of small diameters around said rolls to brackup roll housings LT1WLT5, LB1WLB5. When the rolls T1WT5, B1WB5 are driven, the rolls L1WL5, L11WL14 rotate, and roll bites A1WA8 are formed by the screw- down devices installed to the rolls L1WL5, L11WL14.
