To provide a brace material which prevents deformation of column framing during earthquakes.
Belleville spring compression equipment 2 is incorporated into a brace material; a bifurcated tension member 12 with a protrusion for retaining a washer and a bifurcated tension member 14 with no protrusion are inserted into a central hole 8 of a belleville spring group 7; a cylindrical ring 16 is fixed to a terminal end of the bifurcated tension member 14 with no protrusion; and thus, the belleville spring compression equipment 2 is formed. When the belleville spring compression equipment 2 is incorporated into the brace material and pulled by an external force generated by earthquakes and the like, the tensile force is borne by a great pushing force of the belleville spring group 7 so that tilting of a column can be prevented.
