Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the shape of each mullion so that a specially designed clamp interposed between the mullions can easily be mounted on the mullions in preventing a difference in height between the joints of counter tops by allowing the clamp to work for three actions of pulling and thrusting up and down in an integral manner.
CONSTITUTION: In a connection where two counter tops are butted, mullions are held in place below the butt ends of the counter tops and a clamp is interposed between the mullions and a mechanism for adjusting the counter tops in the vertical direction and a mechanism for making a close joint between the counter tops are integrated with the clamp in order to make the counter tops flush and to achieve close contact between their mating surfaces. The clamp is recessed and a pulling screw 4 is threaded into one side of the recessed clamp, and a thrust-up screw 2 and a thrust-down screw 3 are threaded into the lower side of the clamp.
