To provide a structure for connecting the washing/spin basket of a washing machine with balancer, whereby even if the diameter of the balancer is reduced by a temperature difference due to seasons, the balancer can be easily and securely connected to the inside of the upper portion of the washing/ spin-drying basket to enhance workability of assembly operation.

In the structure for connecting the washing/spin-drying basket 4 of the washing machine with the balancer 5, in which the ring-shaped balancer 5 is screwed to the inside of the upper portion of the washing/spin-drying basket 4, projections 9 are formed in appropriately spaced relation on the surface of the washing/spin-drying basket 4 to be connected to the balancer 5, and screw holes 7 are formed in the projections 9 and in planar portions 4a where the projections 9 are not formed. Either the screw holes 7 formed in the projections 9 or the screw holes 7 formed in the planar portions 4a are selected, and the selected screw holes 7 are aligned with screw holes 6 formed in the balancer 5 to secure the balancer 5 to the washing/spin-drying basket 4.
