Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a V type engine small and light by arranging first communication passage which opens at its starting end to a cooling water cofluent passage and at its ending end to an upper end face of a cylinder head, and a second communication passage which communicates with the first communication passage formed at an excessive space part of a cylinder head cover. CONSTITUTION:At the rear of a V type engine 2, a cooling water cofluent passage (not shown)which connects respective cooling water passages provided at cylinder banks 12-1, 12-2 is provided. In this case, the passage is opened to the cooling water cofluent passage at its starting end, and a first communication passage 24 is arranged which opens at its ending end to an upper end face 6a-2 of a cylinder head 6-2. At an excessive space S of a cylinder head cover 8-2 arranged at the upper part of the cylinder head 6a-2, a second communication passage 26 which is communicated with the first communication passage 24 is integrally formed with the cover 8-2. Heights L3, L4 of the V type engine 2 and a throttle body 20 are set lower than before so as to make it small and light and decrease oscillation.
