To facilitate interchange of a rotary lever handle-type latch lock with a push-pull-type latch lock or vice versa, and to facilitate assembly of a latch portion into a casing.
A cavity for insertion of a lock thereinto, and a hole for attachment of a handle thereto, are formed in a door 1, so as to be commonly available for the rotary lever handle-type latch lock and the push-pull-type latch lock 3, and therefore the latch lock in each type can be interchangeably attached to the same door 1. Further, a base member 32, a rod 33, a bearing block 34, a latch 35, a latch lock member 38, and a stopper holding member 38A for the same, etc., are unitized and assembled in the casing 31. Then, a synchronizing member 39 for engaging with/disengaging from the base member in synchronization with pushing operation or pulling operation of an unlocking handle, is movably arranged in the casing 31. Further, an energizing means 40 for energizing the synchronizing member 39 so as to be automatically restored to a neutral position at which the movable stopper 38 engages with the base member 32, is arranged in the casing 31.
