Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance performance of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell, by preventing power reduction phenomenon due to cross leak or outer leak of a supply gas in the peripheral portion of a polymer electrolyte membrane.SOLUTION: In a component of electrode-membrane-frame assembly, the tip of a polymer electrolyte membrane is sealed by assembling and integrating by injection molding with a third frame, the peripheral part of an electrolyte membrane is bent on the junction boundary face of first and second frames formed by a separate process, the boundary surface of first and second frames obtained by folding the peripheral part of the electrolyte membrane on the junction boundary face of first and third frames, or on the junction boundary face of second and third frames, is integrated by a third frame, and an MEA is fixed.
