Abstract:
To provide a device transmitting, modulating or amplifying electromagnetic waves (ranging from visible rays to far-infrared rays and millimeter waves) by a new means.
This electromagnetic wave guide body is provided with wave guide structure 2 of a rectangular shape or the like consisting of a matallic wall having a pipe shaped or wall shaped part in whose inside a semiconductor 1 is included, electrodes 3, 4 imparting an electric field in a pipe axis direction so as to drift carriers in the semiconductor 1 and input-output mechanisms 6, 7 which are to be coupled with travelling electromagnetic waves in the rectangular wave guide body 2.
