Abstract:
To provide an electron emission element improving durability in electric field concentration and hardly causing chain discharge breakdown.
The electron emission element has a conductive film; a layer containing aluminum oxide as a main component and arranged on the conductive film; pores arranged in the layer containing aluminum oxide as the main component; and an electron emitter arranged in each pore and containing the material of the conductive film. The electron emitter is porous and electrically connected to the conductive film. The conductive film contains an element excluding aluminum, as a main component, and the electron emitter is columnar.
