PURPOSE: To provide the structure of a finder capable of making a camera thin in structure and excellent in portability by freely moving one or both of an objective lens and an eyepiece in an optical axis direction and retracting a lens in a camera main body by the movement, thereby projecting the lens to set visibility at the time of photographing and retracting the lens at the time of nonphotographing.

CONSTITUTION: A lens mount 5 is supported so as to freely slide in the direction of an optical axis S, with respect to a guiding mount 3 holding the objective lens 1 and the eyepiece 4 is held on the lens mount 5. The lens mount 5 is slid with respect to the guiding mount 3. When the interval between the objective lens 1 and the eyepiece 4 is made narrow and approximately minimum in a moving range, the eyepiece 4 is housed in the camera main body and the depth of the camera is made approximately minimum. When the interval is made wide and approximately maximum in the moving range, the eyepiece 4 is projected from the camera main body to obtain the finder of proper power without a deviation in the visibility.
