Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate fixing of an oil strainer to a strainer housing, by forming a plurality of inward projections at the frame portion of the oil strainer which is fitted to the end portion of the inlet opening of an oil pump. CONSTITUTION:A trochoidal oil pump 1 is driven by an engine via a power transmitting mechanism including a sprocket 2 and a chain 3. Oil drawn into the pump 1 from an inlet port is pressurized and then discharged from an outlet passage 11 having a relief valve 12. To the open end of the inlet port of the pump 1, there is fitted a strainer housing 5 in the form of an inverted funnel, to the open end of which is fitted a strainer 7. Here, the strainer 7 consists of a strainer frame 7a and a wire netting 7b coupled to the inner flange portion of the frame 7a, and projections 7c to be engaged on an annular projection 6 at the open end of the housing 5 are pressed out at four portions on the inner cylindrical surface of the frame 7a.
