Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the production of this structure which is formed from cellulose acetate and suitable as a product capable of being mass-produced and shows excellent biodegradability under the influence of environment.
CONSTITUTION: This structure is formed from cellulose acetate on the inside or surface of which an additive exists, wherein the additive consists of a nitrogen-containing organic compound that forms by its degradation due to microorganisms, a basic decomposition product, particularly a basic compound having ammonia, at least one NH group and/or at least one NH2 group. The structure can be formed in a filament-, staple fiber-, film-, foil-, sheet- or other object-form. Such a structure in a filament- and/or staple fiber-form(s) can be used for producing filter tow. This kind of filter tow can be used for manufacturing a tobacco smoking filter element.
