The housing of the public telephone set 1 has a housing main body 2 whose front face in open and a housing door 3 having a lock 5 to open/ close the opening of the housing main body 2. The inside of the housing main body 2 is separated into an upper housing chamber 7 and a lower cash box room having a cash box door 12 with a lock 14 by a partition plate 6. Then the housing door 3 covers the front face of the cash box chamber.
