To provide a structure for an internal combustion engine for directly confirming a state of a hollow part from the base body outside.
This structure for the internal combustion engine includes: a base body having the hollow part and storing a moving body for moving in the hollow part in response to an explosion caused in the hollow part; and a window member arranged in the base body and transmitting the light incident on the hollow part from the outside of the base body and the light emitted to the hollow part from the outside of the base body. The window member is formed of a sapphire monocrystal.
