PURPOSE: To prevent influence of cross-wind and provide safe landing of airplane by arranging water curtain nozzles at the landing strip end on the landing side and on its extension in such an arrangement as in parallel with the airplane intruding course.
CONSTITUTION: At that end of a landing strip 1 on the landing side and on the extension therefrom, nozzles for water curtain 2 are arranged on both sides of the applicable stretch, or on one side under the condition that the wind direction is unchanged substantially, and there pumps are connected to supply pressurized water. The nozzle arrangement shall be in one or more rows according to tire strength of cross-wind. Water curtain 2 on the wind upstream side is formed in compliance with the wind situation, and thereby cross-wind is blocked.
