To provide a structure for lubricating a connecting rod, which structure can increase the quantity of oil capable of contributing to the lubrication at the inside of the small end portion of the connecting rod.
The structure for lubricating the connecting rod is configured so as to include an oil hole 1b formed at the top portion of the small end portion 1a of the connecting rod 1 and a projecting portion 3 projected from the nearly central portion of the inside surface 2a of a piston. The projecting portion formed on the inside surface of the piston serves as a kernel for collecting oil stuck to the inside surface of the piston, and the oil falls from the projecting portion as a drop into the oil hole formed on the small end portion of the connecting rod. As a result, the quantity of the oil capable of contributing to the lubrication at the inside of the small end portion increases, and the lubrication performance can be improved.
