In the structure and method for corrosion protection by covering the steel surface of the steel structure with a titanium thin sheet, (1) the titanium thin sheet is welded to a metal hanger by the resistance welding after the metal hanger is welded to the steel surface of the steel structure, and (2) the metal hanger welded to the titanium thin sheet is welded to the steel surface of the steel structure after the titanium thin sheet and the metal hanger are welded in advance by the resistance welding.
