Title:
STRUCTURE OF REAR SUSPENSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04224413
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the rigidity of a rear suspension structure for a sideways input to a wheel, without increasing the rigidities of a trailing arm and torsion beam themselves and the rigidity of an arm bushing, and to enlarge the degree of freedom in setting the level of the roll center.

CONSTITUTION: A trailing arm 3 is installed on the car body side of each knuckle spindle 2 interlockedly while extending ahead the car body and is coupled with it at the front end with an arm bushing 4 interposed. In the middle of the left and right trailing arms 3, a torsion beam 5 is set over in the direction across the car body width. In the neighbourhood of the wheel center a lateral rod 6 is coupled swingably with the body side of each knuckle spindle 2, while bushing is interposed, and is extended inward in the direction across the width, and that end 6b of lateral rod 6 situated inside of the body is coupled with the body through bushing with capability of swinging up and down.
