Abstract:

To provide structure which can make compatible the suppression of the cocking of a lifter in a roller lifter and the suppression of the end-tooth bearing of a roller to a cam.

A fitting length dimension T1 with respect to the internal face of a lifter guide 52 is set short in a phase position in the roller axial direction in the circumferential direction of the external peripheral face of a lifter body 51a, and on the other hand, in a phase position of a direction orthogonal to the roller axial center in the circumferential direction of the external peripheral face of the lifter body 51a, the fitting length dimension with respect to the internal face of the lifter guide 52a is set long. By this, an inclination allowable amount of the lifter 51 with respect to the lifter guide 52 in a direction orthogonal to the axial center of the roller 53 is limited, and the cocking of the lifter 51 is suppressed. Also, the inclination allowable amount of the lifter 51 with respect to the lifter guide 52 in a direction along the axial center of the roller 53 is increased, the inclination of the lifter 51 can be made to follow the inclination of the cam 111, and thus, the end-tooth bearing of the roller 53 to the cam 111 can be suppressed.
