Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for a soil covered roof utilizable on the rooftop of a small area of a house and capable of ensuring the sufficient water holding effects and durability, simplifying the structure and further reducing the cost of structural members.
SOLUTION: This structure for a soil covered roof is obtained by providing a constitution for spreading a heat insulating material over the top surface of each roof slab 10 on the rooftop, carrying out a waterproof treatment having properties of preventing roots onto the top surface of the heat insulating material, forming a waterproof layer 1, laying a water holding mat capable of storing water on the top surface of the waterproof layer 1, forming a water holding layer 2 and spreading a lightweight artificial soil 3 having high draining properties over the top surface of the water holding layer 2. Furthermore, the structure is composed by arranging a tree supporting net 13 on the top surface of the water holding layer 2 so as to support a root ball T of the tree T with the tree supporting net 13. The tree T can be planted in the lightweight artificial soil 3 and a draining layer provided with a drain filter is composed so as to make water in excess which cannot be stored over the water holding ability of the water holding layer 2 flow through the lightweight artificial soil 3 and rapidly discharge the water to the outside.
