Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the common utilization of ball-and-roller bearings even when rolling rolls are changed in anticipation of the requirement of widening of the rolling rolls in future in rolling roll supporting structure.
SOLUTION: This structure is the structure for supporting the shaft ends of the rolling roll 1 on the roll chocks 2 through the ball-and-roller bearings 3, outer ring retaining members 4, 5 for positioning the outer rings 3b of the ball-and-roller bearings 3 in the axial direction at both ends in the axial direction of a bearing mounting holes 2a of the roll chock 2 are respectively provided and both the outer ring retaining members 4, 5 are composed of plural members 4a, 5a, 4b, 5b which are divided in the axial direction. In this way, when the present rolling rolls 1 are changed for new widened rolling rolls 1', the measure is simply taken so that, by dismounting a part of the outer ring retaining members 4, 5, the common use of the ball-and-roller bearing 3 is enabled and also the change of other peripheral parts is not required.
