PURPOSE: To simplify the control system for screw down device by interposing a load cell in one support of each support of plural rolling rolls and making the whole rigidity of all supporting systems same.

CONSTITUTION: The load cell is interposed between an arbitrary one support 6 of each support 6 of the plural rolling rolls 1 and the mill 4, also supporting members 5 are interposed between other supports 6 and the mill housing and the supporting systems are constituted so that the whole rigidity of the supporting system which consists of these supporting members 5 and supports 6 corresponding to those members and the whole rigidity of the supporting system in which the load cell is interposed are same. In this way, because the deflection of each rolling roll is same in the case rolling reaction force is added to the rolling roll 1, rolling work is done without hindrance even when the load cell is mounted in one place. Thus, the control system for the screw down device of rolling roll can be simplified.
