PURPOSE: To provide a dewatering machine in which a complete dewatering is carried out within a short period of time and a consumption power is scarcely required by a method wherein an umbrella is inserted into an intermediate part of a dewatering section, a clearance between a right dewatering section and a left dewatering section and then water kept in the dewatering sections absorbing rain water is removed.
CONSTITUTION: A person hoping to dewater an umbrella puts an umbrella 12 at a guiding section 4a downwardly at a position where a dewatering section 1 is opened in rightward and leftward directions and reaches it to a leaf spring 11. The extremity end of the umbrella 12 pushes the leaf spring 11 to operate a sensor 10. Concurrently, a signal to start squeezing of rain water is transmitted to two motors 9, so that the motors 9 are rotated to squeeze out rain water in such a direction as one in which a clearance between the dewatering sections 1 is narrowed. The umbrella 12 is pressed by the right and left dewatering sections 1, the rain water kept in the dewatering sections is forcedly squeezed out and concurrently it is absorbed into the dewatering sections 1. On completion of dewatering operation, the motors 9 are rotated in a reverse direction, and they return to an opening position of the dewatering sections 1 before dewatering state. The person hoping to dewater an umbrella may detect the umbrella 12 by a pull-up sensor and a non-contact sensor, a power supply for the motors 9 is turned on with the detected signal, the dewatering sections 1 are moved inwardly again and the umbrella 12 is pushed against the fixed dewatering section 1 so as to remove rain water absorbed in the dewatering section 1.
