Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the fitting of a weir block in short period of time even when the worker does not come into a tundish and in the condition of high temp.
CONSTITUTION: To a bottom surface and both side surfaces of the weir block 3 for tundish, joint mixture composed of a plastic refractory mortar closely charged into a tube 12 or a plastic packing having little change with the lapse of time is beforehand fit by adhesive or adhesive tape 13 or wire embedded in the weir block, etc., This weir block is stuck and fixed while giving the vibration to the inner surface of the tundish by a fitting device provided with an exciting device.
